Alpha Airwaves Flying Club
Alpha Airways, Inc. is a 501c7 non-profit flying club incorporated in 2022 with the purpose growing the accessibility of flying to more members of the community. We believe in creating a group of individuals that are like minded in their passion for flight. Our flight club currently consists of a Piper Cherokee plane. We provide an alternative to renting or owning a plane.
Our aircraft is hangared at Central Illinois Regional AIrport (CIRA) located in Bloomington, IL.
Membership Details - How does it work?
How does it work?
We know that buying a plane is expensive. We also wanted a flying club in Sandpoint. So the 7B Flying Club was formed to make flying affordable, easy, and low maintenance. As a member, you will have full access to the plane and our online scheduling tool.
How much does it cost up front?
We made the initial Club fees as affordable as possible. We require a $250 non-refundable deposit, a $250 refundable security deposit, and a $55 monthly fee. Total upfront cost (including tax) is $573.30
How much does it cost per hour?
Keep in mind that rates may fluctuate with fuel prices, or other variables throughout the flying season. Our rate is currently set at ~$100 / hobbs-hour. Members are only billed on their hours flown for the previous month.
What are the monthly dues?
The monthly dues are $58.30 (tax included).
Flight Instruction
Our goal is to make learning how to fly easy. Although we don't have any current CFI's, we can walk you through the process and find you an instructor. As a student member, you will have the same access as other members to the club plane. Most instructors in the area will gladly use the Club's plane to instruct.
How many members are in the Club?
We have set the limit to 25 members so we don't have to worry about scheduling conflicts. As we continue to grow, we would love to entertain the idea of a second aircraft.
